Spinel Hotel - Old City

Great location, great staff, so clean and comfortable room, amazing breakfast. Nice and quiet place?

The location was perfect, 5 min walk to Aya Sophia and Blue Mosque,.We had a family apartment, with two bedrooms, living room, kitchen and toilet, perfect for a family of 4.

The breakfast was poor, no omlet, ne eye eggs, only boiled eggs. No salami, only one kind of sausage.They can do better i am sure!

Staff was so friendly and accommodating, they helped us with transportation, organized everything for us. We were a big family of 13 they were very patient with us, and so accommodating that we felt like home. Hotel is 6 minutes from main attraction and one block from the street that has all bars restaurants and shops open all night long

Everything was great

Room 504 has an amazing view of the harbor. Breakfast was simple, but tasty and unique. The staff was simply amazing and friendly. They booked anything we needed and took payment for everything.

Our mattress was a bit uncomfortable but I was so tired at the end of the day, it didn't matter! Narrow stairwell to the upper rooms so having small luggage is best. Internet connection was not stable in our room, so I had to work in the lobby.

When I arrived at the hotel, the Receptionist Rejeb was very nice and helpful. He allowed me for early check in. He even helped me booked day tour and bosphorous sunset tour. The other staffs Efef and Efe and the two ladies were also nice and answered allmy queries. I was given a nice room with a view of the sea. Room are cleaned and they changed the towels everyday.The breakfast area is at the rooftop with good view of the sea. Near restaurants and shopping area. Walking distance to Hajia Sofia and Blue Mosque..10-15 mins walk.

There was no elevator, but they will help you with your luggage going to your room. No kettle, tea and coffee in the room.Breakfast is basic.

Breakfast was absolutely delicious authentic Turkish food far cheaper, calmer and nicer then going out for breakfast.

Could have had tea/coffee for the room or had the option to have some in the upstairs area outside of breakfast hours.

Can't count how many times I have stayed here. Years pass but my appreciation for this place is eternal. Everybody is ready to help, the guys at the reception can help with any arrangements, we enjoyed our check-in earlier in the morning. Location of the hotel is perfect, especially if you come to İstanbul for the first time or wanna stay close to central historical square. But... the most incredible thing that makes me choose this hotel again and again is the tastiest homemade breakfast ever. Thus, a lot of thanks to the whole hotel crew and especially to Yeliz hanım and her tasty meals that were giving us the energy for the whole day of sightseeing around ?

everything was in the best order. the reception is open 24 hours, friendly stay, friendly cook, they bring towels every day.

Location of the hotel is in the centre,near Hagia Sofia,Blue Mosque,Basilica Cistern and Topkapi.It is possible to park your car at the hotel but you must leave the key to the reception.Very good breakfast and the lady who prepares it is very kind.

Cleanliness is not the strong point, but towels are changed every day. The apartment i stayed in needs urgent repairs and is very old.

I love the location. It’s very close to Hagia Sofia, and everything else will be walking distance. The staff is great, they will explain what you should see and how to get to those places. The Breakfast is AMAZING! The lady working there it’s great also. Lots of options and you will certainly not need lunch after that.

I was on the ground floor and it’s a party city, so the other guests would come at 3, 4, 5 in the morning and they woke me up every time. The staff at night they are not very quiet and they don’t infringe a rule for the other’s guests, which they should.

The location is excellent. You are very close to Hagia Sophia, Topkapi palace and the Blue Mosque. When you want to explore other areas of Istanbul such as Besiktas or Beyoglu you can simply use public transport (tram) or a taxi via uber, taxi will cost you approximently 5€ (200 TL).

Breakfast could have a little more variation in the food options.

I had an absolutely fantastic stay at the hotel, largely thanks to the incredible staff. They were not only friendly but also exceptionally warm, attentive, and eager to assist with any request. Efe, Rejib, and possibly Ahmed (though I may have forgotten the exact name) stood out as some of the kindest and most approachable individuals I’ve encountered. They were always smiling, ready to help, and went above and beyond to ensure that guests felt welcome and well taken care of. The hotel itself was spotless, and the location was ideal for sightseeing, with iconic landmarks like Hagia Sophia and the Blue Mosque just a short distance away. For shopping, I highly recommend exploring Eminonu instead of the Grand Bazaar. It's much cheaper for buying gifts, food, and all kinds of items you might want to take home from your trip. Everything here is affordable, making it a great spot for those looking to pick up souvenirs. The Bosphorus tour was also easily arranged for a very reasonable 20 euros through the hotel staff. For those booking a room, I’d recommend reviewing the room photos beforehand, as I found my room to be a bit smaller than expected, though this was a minor detail. Overall, the warmth and professionalism of the staff made my stay unforgettable!

Location is just great, staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was up to standard with a beautiful view. Friendly lady serving with a smile, and could cummunicate with our two Deaf persons in the group.

Our room was not cleaned every day. There are some minor repares to be done in our two bedroom unit: Shower fixture loose; fridge's freeze compartment door missing, resulting in everything frosen. Lovely unit, but a little bit of minor touch-up is needed.

Great location, everything you need from a room, incredible value for the location and a fantastic breakfast.

Very close to all major attractions of Istanbul, all in walking distance. Free parking. Good breakfast with great view from the roof-terrace.

Very small room

Breakfast was very nice, adequit and with a stunning view. We needed nothing more.

The property needs a shake-up to lift it a star or two, which will not be costly but will make a huge difference.. Nothing major: paint, fix shower, fix fridge iceboce, see to cutlery and kitchen utencels.
